Lloyd Kaufman apologizes for the leaking of the secret video announcing a performance-rally this Thursday, May 21st, 3 pm, at Union Square, New York, NY. Mr. Kaufman stated “We don’t want to even mention that this Union Square event is to raise awareness of the Return to Nuke’Em High: Volume 2 Kickstarter campaign. The Troma Team launched its official Return to Nuke ‘Em High: Volume 2Kickstarter campaign today–inspiring $4,000 worth of donations in only 3 short hours. The campaign, which aims to raise $50,000 for post-production costs on the “explosive” final installment of Lloyd Kaufman’s two-part Return to Nuke ‘Em High saga, was announced this week on Buzzfeed.

According to Wikipedia “The idea for TromaDance was developed by Troma president Lloyd Kaufman, who got the idea from South Park co-creator Trey Parker (whose debut film, Cannibal! The Musical, was distributed by Troma). Feeling that Sundance had become too “Hollywood” by charging film-makers high fees to entry his movies, showing multi-million-dollar “independent” movies and practicing an elitist structure and film selection process, Parker urged Kaufman to create his own film festival that was the direct independent opposite of Sundance, one that was completely FREE! and focused on independently produced film that was made without the Hollywood system in order to give first-time filmmakers a chance at getting their work seen. Changes title to “Sincerely the Troma Team: Occupy Cannes”
‘Occupy Cannes’ has changed its working title to ‘Sincerely the Troma Team: Occupy Cannes’. This film, which originally focused specifically on Troma’s latest trip to Cannes, has evolved into a more ambitious project. Troma at the Cannes film festival still plays centrally, but the documentary also looks at the bigger “ecosystem” of Troma, Lloyd Kaufman, and independent film. The news arrived on Indiegogo today in an update to the project’s page.

“The symbiotic relationship Lloyd and Troma has with his fans and supporters is one of the most compelling themes in the film,” says the update. Living legends Stan Lee and Ron Jeremy were recently interviewed and have pretty interesting things to say about independent filmmaking and their own relation with Troma and the Troma Team.

The Troma Team has officially relaunched its ‘Return to Nuke ‘Em High: Volume 1 & 2‘ Facebook fan page. The page broke its year long silence today with a playful “#FlashbackFriday” tease, exciting fans worldwide and re-igniting their frenzied anticipation for Troma’s next release.
Regular posting is expected to resume, hinting at a possible update on the eagerly awaited “Return to Nuke ‘Em High: Volume 2.” Fans should ‘Like’ Troma’s “Return to Nuke ‘Em High: Volume 1 & 2″ fan page for further updates.
Lloyd Kaufman will be appearing at Forbidden Planet this Thursday, April 30th for an exclusive Troma signing event. He’ll be joined by iconic Troma superstar Lisa Gaye (Class of Nuke Em High 2: Subhumanoid Meltdown, Toxic Avenger 2 & 3) and Class of Nuke Em High composer Ethan Hurt in celebration of Troma’s latest releases, which includes the Class of Nuke ‘Em High 2 Blu-Ray.

Rick Gianasi starred in Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D (1990)
Troma alumnus Rick Gianasi will be joining Lloyd Kaufman and the Troma Team this weekend at the 2015 Megacon. Gianasi starred in the classic Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D, which celebrates it’s 25th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, this long lost star will be signing DVDs and meeting with fans on Sunday, April 12. Babette Bombshell, who was originally slated to join Kaufman and Gianasi this weekend at Megacon, will no longer be appearing due to scheduling conflicts.
