CINEZILLA REVIEW OF HEMO

“Vampire movies have never really been my cup of tea. In some way I find them to be something of a starting ground and an area that rarely adds anything new to its age-old formula.  For some reason they just don’t do anything for me. They are like elevator music and I’m more a punk rock, black metal kind of guy. I like it gritty and harsh. I don’t want horror fluffy and gentle and pansy. Troma is attempting to raise $50,000 through Indiegogo, to cover the costs of travel, filming and post-production of the documentary, which will depict Troma’s efforts to premier Return of Nuke’Em High Vol. 1 & 2 at Cannes Film Festival amid a sea of top-dollar film corporations and camera-hungry celebrities.” Read MORE

Time.com – The Toxic Investor: A Legendary Indie-Film Company Turns to Crowdfunding

“For one thing, they wouldn’t ask their fans to pay for a full-fledged Troma movie, which can run to about a half a million dollars (Return to Nuke ‘Em High, which will be released in two volumes, cost about $800,000, still teensy-tiny by Hollywood standards). A documentary shot on digital is relatively cheap, and Occupy Cannes exists to prove a point, not to make money, the latter of which is what Troma…”
