PRELIMINARY CANNES SCHEDULE, ‘OCCUPY CANNES’ DOCUMENTARY IN PRE-PRODUCTION

The forthcoming, subversive documentary,  OCCUPY CANNES, on how the independents compete with the mega-conglomerates at the Cannes Film Festival, is now in pre-production and Troma’s preliminary schedule for the 2013 Cannes Film Festival  is now available. This announcement comes in the last week of Troma’s  well-publicized indiegogo.com campaign for OCCUPY CANNES which was just featured in TIME Magazine’s online version time.com. “Our fans clearly indicated that they want to see OCCUPY CANNES based on  the initial contributions, communication, and encouragement we have  received from the 340 fans who have parted with money so far,” said  Troma president Lloyd Kaufman. “They want to see a documentary created  with total artistic freedom, so we are moving ahead with the documentary  and creating our schedule.”

The Troma Team office will be located in the Palais – Level One,  Booth 24.09, and the first installment of the Troma Team event film Return to Nuke ‘Em High Vol. 1,  directed by Lloyd Kaufman, will screen at 3:30pm in Arcades, theater 3  on Thursday, May 16th and Tuesday, May 21st. Return to Nuke ‘Em High Vol. I & II stars  Catherine Corcoran and Asta Paredes will not only be making in-person  appearances at Troma screenings and events at Cannes, but will lead the  charge as the faces of OCCUPY CANNES while the Troma Team promotes their  films and competes with the international-mega-media-conglomerates.

A more detailed schedule of  additional Troma promotional events, press conferences, and party will  be forthcoming. Troma Entertainment also has room for a limited number  of qualified volunteers and Tromettes. Volunteers will get a first-hand  look at how to promote a film at Cannes on a limited budget, assist in  the promotion of Return to Nuke ‘Em High Vol. I, and work on the  production of Occupy Cannes! If you are interested, please email your  contact information, resume, and a letter of recommendation to [email protected]. Due to budget limitations, Troma Entertainment can not cover travel/lodging expenses for volunteers or Tromettes.
