After a wildly successful convention appearance at the New York Comiccon, legendary filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman, President of Troma Entertainment and the creator of the Toxic Avenger, will be flying into Los Angeles for the 2014 Stan Lee Comikaze Convention. From October 31 through November 2, Kaufman will appear as a Featured Media Guest at various Comikaze events as well as the Troma booth (#1123).
On Friday, October 31, Lloyd will host a very special West Coast screening of Return to Nuke ‘Em High: Vol. 1. The film, released in 2012, continues to screen internationally. The event takes place in the LA Convention Center’s Screening Room at 4:30 pm.
Then, on Saturday, November 1, fans and attendees will line up to see Lloyd host his very own Troma Panel detailing Troma’s long history and its forthcoming projects, which include the hotly anticipated Return to Nuke ‘Em High: Vol 2 and the Cannes Film documentary Occupy Cannes. Joined by Special Guest Patricia Kaufman (Former New York State Film Commissioner, Executive Producer of Poultrygeist), the panel begins at 10:00 AM in room 404AB.
Later that same day, Lloyd will host a high-definition Tromeo & Juliet screening at 1:30 PM. Widely considered a defining Troma classic, Tromeo & Juliet was written by James Gunn, director of the Marvel’s 2014 Hollywood Blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy. Join Troma in celebrating its 40 years of “Reel Entertainment.”
Fans, admirers, and Comikaze attendees can also visit the Troma Booth (#1123) throughout the weekend for FREE Photo Opportunities and Autograph signings on Troma-bilia favorites, including a number of exclusives you can only find at Stan Lee’s Comikaze.
Stan Lee’s Comikaze is located at the LA Convention Center, 1201 S Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA
