Assistant Editing And Archival Research Volunteer For Feature Length Documentary Film

Troma Entertainment is looking for a volunteer who will work exclusively as assistant editor and archival researcher for a feature-length Documentary currently in post production.

Volunteer will receive Assistant Editor credit on feature length documentary, which features Troma Entertainment, James Gunn, Stan Lee, Roger Corman, John Avildsen and others.

This is a great learning opportunity, for someone who is familiar with editing, and wants to cut their teeth on a bigger project.  Volunteer will work closely with editor and director.

Time Commitment: 
  • Part-time
  • We will work together to determine a schedule that works everyone
  • Reviewing, organizing and cataloging archival footage
  • Prepping multi-media for edit (scanning photos, artwork, posters and cataloging in premiere)
  • Prepping photos and media for multiplaning animation in After Effects
  • Compiling string outs and sequences based on the direction of the editor and director
  • Assist in scheduling and shooting pickup shoots
  • Experience editing and basic familiarity with Premiere Pro and After effects
  • Attention to detail, and desire to take ownership of work
  • Willingness to teach themselves new skills
  • Comfortable working independently

Lloyd Kaufman (director of POULTRYGEIST and THE TOXIC AVENGER) is looking for a screenplay for his next feature film. He would like to produce and direct an ensemble film (i.e., small cast) of any genre, but the script must be extreme, daring, and 100% original – a project no one else would dare film!

Troma has limited space each semester for Observer/Volunteers to work with Lloyd Kaufman and Team Troma at the Troma Headquarters.


Editing Opportunity


Attention film choppers (yes, you editors)! If you are in the New York area and would like the experience of editing a TROMA masterpiece then this is the place for you.  This is an unpaid position, but this is a great way to get your foot in the film industry door. Not to mention, it’s a valuable chance to work directly with Lloyd Kaufman himself!
