(London, United Kingdom) August 21, 2000 - Channel 4 announces they have signed Lloyd Kaufman and the Troma Team to create 20 half-hour episodes of Troma's Edge TV. Troma's Edge TV will bring the instantly recognizable Troma universe to television. UK viewers can expect the same kind of cutting-edge humor, great music, and Tromatic superheroes like the Toxic Avenger and Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD familiar from Troma movies. Too hot for prime-time, Troma's Edge was slipped past the censors as part of the 4later programming. It will air late every Friday night - you can check listings for exact times. Troma's Edge TV will put Troma's unique spin on such diverse hilarious topics as American politics and mass murder. Troma plans to use "cutting-edge" special effects technology to stage the largest mass slaying ever captured on film. In addition, each episode will include interviews with such Troma alumni as Julie Strain (Heavy Metal 2000 and Troma's The Rowdy Girls), master classes on movie secrets hosted by Lloyd Kaufman (Troma president and creator of the Toxic Avenger), appearances from the Ferrara Bro's., a recurring sitcom based around such Troma characters as Dolphin Man, Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD and, of course, the Toxic Avenger, as well as many, many other features and surprises.

Darren Bender, the newly appointed commissioner of Channel 4's 4Later, saw a gap in the Channel 4 lineup that could only be filled by Troma. Florian Schura, a bona fide UKish person, will be producing the series for Troma out of Troma's Los Angeles office. Trent Haaga, star of Troma's most recent hit Terror Firmer, will be hosting the New York segments, whilst Tiffany Shepis stars as super-Tromette Bulimia and will Trom-anchor from Los Angeles. Of course, the palsied hand of Troma president Lloyd Kaufman will guide the Troma Team throughout the series.
