Greetings from Tromaville!
I’m Actium Maximus.
Last month's article got short shrift because I was so late in delivering it, but if you want to know about the April new releases or any of the relases from the past six months, check out the Actium Archives at the bottom.
Enough with moving forward into the past*, let's go back to the future!**

PERIOD PIECE
You know, I was just looking Period Piece up on Netflix, and for some reason they have this latest masterpiece from Giuseppe Andrews (Trailer Town, Touch Me in the Morning) listed as a horror film. Maybe it's the Troma pedigree, or maybe it's the brutal stuffed-animal rape, or maybe it's the uncompromising nudie-magazine father-son bonding scenes, or maybe it's the crazy, axe-wielding sexually-depraved old man portrayed by Tyree or... heck, maybe it's the crazy French midget. Most likely, those clucks never even watched the movie. If you find Period Piece stuck in your local video store's horror movie section, give them what for! Then thank them for carrying Troma DVDs and buy 5 copies of Period Piece for you and your friends and family. |

MEAT WEED MADNESS
Meat Weed is a little-known herb grown in a fertilizer created from human flesh. When smoked, the herb can cause women to go wild with sexual excitement. This helpful cautionary tale shows that while you might think smoking Meat Weed is fun, it only leads to a painful death at the hands of Bull Pucky, the half-man/half-bull with the Confederacy in his heart and murder on his mind. Director Aiden Dillard's cautionary tale is complimented on the DVD by his commentary and a short film about tolerance, The Battle Between the Burps and Farts. |

VIDEO VIXENS
This erotic comedy masterpiece from Troma's T&A past makes its much-anticipated, long-delayed DVD debut. Anyone familiar with the Troma Intelligence Tests from the early Troma DVDs has probably seen many a clip from this boobs-and-bush bonanza. But, believe me, there is much more to savor in this bawdy satire of propriety and porno. George "Buck" Flower (of John Carpenter's The Fog and They Live) and Robyn Hilton (of Blazing Saddles) star as a couple of porno professionals hired to host an Adult-Film Academy Awards, broadcast prime-time on national TV. This flick was originally rated X, and some of it is still pretty wild by modern standards. |

FIESTA OF FEAR 2-PACK
Just when you thought our 2-packs couldn’t get any better… they don’t. They stay just as amazing as always!! Here comes two of our finest movies with Latin flavor: LEGEND OF THE CHUPACABRA and ANGEL NEGRO. It’s more fun than a John Leguizamo film festival in Spanish Harlem!

THE SINS OF THE CHILDREN
A rare early talkie from the 1930s, this is perfect for any neglected father on Father's Day. Louis Mann stars in his only talking film role as a German immigrant who works hard to start a wonderful new life for his family in America, only ot have his family pass him by. A moving film directed by Hollywood pro Sam Wood, the man behind The Marx Brothers' A Night at the Opera and one of the uncredited directors of Gone With The Wind. The movie also costars Robert Montgomery, who went on to popularity on television and is also the father of Elizabeth Montgomery (Samantha from TV's Bewitched). |
Coming in June:

MACABRE PAIR OF SHORTS
I was just thinking that if David Boreanaz, the star of the TV shows Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel who also makes an appearance in Macabre Pair of Shorts, were to marry the adult film star Aurora Snow then she would be named Aurora Boreanaz. (Get it? Like “aurora borealis,” the northern lights. Get it?) These are the things I think about when I should be keeping babies from sticking their forks into electrical sockets. |
Coming in July:

EAST END HUSTLE
I finally watched this flick, and man, it is fuckin’ great. Tons of nudity, gobs of violence, real gritty ‘70s exploitation style, this thing is the REAL DEAL. |
Coming in August:

TROMEO & JULIET 10th Anniv. 2-Disk Edition
We’ve just recorded some two new commentaries – one with Lloyd Kaufman and James Gunn, one with editor Frank Reynolds in conversation with Poultrygeist editor Gabriel Friedman – and found an old previously-excluded commentary from 1997 with James Gunn and his brother and Tromeo costar Sean Gunn. That, and we’ll slap on Lloyd’s old commentary, so the disc’ll have four in total. We’ve recorded new interviews with a lot of the cast and crew, and we’ve dug tons of archival material. This shit is gonna be off the heezy. |
BELCEBU: DIABLOS LESBOS
For we dumb English-speakers it might be of interest to learn that “Belcebu” is the Spanish word for “Beelzebub” or. . . THE DEVIL! See, wasn’t that interesting? |
Coming in September (dammit, already!?):
|
