Greetings from Tromaville!
I’m Actium Maximus.
Well, Tromites, the cold weather looks like it might start to subside for good, and to get you in the mood for spring, both of our March Troma DVD new releases (LOLLILOVE and DUMPSTER BABY) have Easter Eggs! Now, don't get too excited, it's only one Easter Egg apiece, and neither one features Lloyd Kaufman bottomless (or topless, for that matter). Next month, if you're good, I'll add the location of the Easter Eggs on Troma's Easter Eggs page, but for now, you'll just have to hunt.
MARCH NEW RELEASES!
 |
LOLLILOVE
Advance word is astonishingly good for this flick. Both on the Troma Message Boards from folks who saw the flick at Tromadance or who got a review copy of the DVD, and from critics at DVDTalk, Film Threat, Hero Realm and more. And partly from her newfound popularity as Pam on NBC's version of THE OFFICE, actor-director Jenna Fischer has found a new group of fans for the film on Myspace. Become a MySpace Friend of LOLLILOVE.
The disc is loaded with material (as anyone who watches the lo-res-looking Making-Of can attest, every last bit of bitrate has been used on this sucker), and is sure to turn some homeless people into happy people.

DUMPSTER BABY
Now, for those of you who think Troma is changing its ways with the mainstream-seeming LOLLILOVE need only look at our other March DVD to know that Troma will never change.
DUMPSTER BABY is a modern schlock masterpiece, which plays sort of like SLACKER or TWENTY BUCKS, except with a bad-luck-bringing dumpster baby taking the place of a 20-dollar bill. The disc comes with a funny French-baiting intro, drunken filmmaker commentary, and a Russian music video which gives the world a glimpse of Troma president Lloyd Kaufman having sex with women, having sex with men, and then killing everybody.

THE TOXIC AVENGER and CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL on UMD for PSP
What can you say about films that by now are a part of the cultural canon? What more to mention about 2 movies that say it all? Nothing, I guess, except please buy these movies in the new UMD format for your PSP, because Michael Herz said that if we don't sell a lot he would kill my new puppy. |

THREE GUYS NAMED MIKE
The Roan Group uncovers a romantic comedy classic with Jane Wyman and Van Johnson, and presents it for the first time ever on DVD (and this time we actually mean it!!).
Jane is a stewardess who finds herself with 3 same-named suitors, Van plays Mike (I forget if he is the third or the second Mike. or the first.), and if you don't know which one she'll choose, you've obviously never been to the movies before. |
Coming in April:
 |
SCARLET MOON
Warren F. Disbrow, the mad-genius video auteur behind the Flesh Eaters From Outer Space/Invasion For Flesh and Blood double feature, which features CLERKS costar Marilyn Ghigliotti in her only topless movie role, strikes back with this episode in a multi-part vampire saga revolving around a mystical jewel that seems to make chicks take off their clothes. I couldn't follow much of the story, but it might have been just because I was too busy rewatching the full frontal nude scene at the beginning again and again.
|
 |
ACTING OUT
Did somebody say "full frontal nude scene?" Oh yeah, I did. Er. anyhow, this sexumentary from the swingin' 70s could be credited (or blamed depending on your opinion) for the later developments of both reality TV and amateur porn. Real people discuss their sexual fantasies, and many get to act it out. A lot of it is tame by today's standards (it got an X rating at the time, but would probably pass as a hard R now), but some of it - like the bachelor who strips a bride bare to put the wedding dress on himself - has to be seen to be believed. This one comes with the Mr. Skin Pick To Click seal of approval, and the DVD will feature an extended interview with Mr. Skin conducted by Lloyd Kaufman.

Cummin' in May:
 |
PERIOD PIECE
Lloyd Kaufman just recently got back from Los Angeles, where he shot an interview and DVD intro with Giuseppe Andrews for this DVD. We're still putting the disc together, but it looks like it will be a pretty substantial interview, different from the one on TOUCH ME IN THE MORNING, which we still intend to show in its full 30-minute form when we release the Bathrobe Home School Box Set. Giuseppe mentioned that he would prefer to release his newer film THE DATE MOVIE (not the shitty one now in theaters) next, so (get those angry message-board posts ready!) the box might be pushed back to '07. This is all tentative, and I probably shouldn't even be mentioning it, but hey, you deserve to know. |
 |
VIDEO VIXENS
I have run out of things to say about VIDEO VIXENS. I will come up with something excellent next month. |
 |
MEAT WEED MADNESS
Lloyd shot a live-via-satellite interview with filmmaker/former Troma intern Aiden Dillard for the intro to this DVD while Lloyd was at Tromadance in January, and Aiden was under wraps in the dirty dirty South. Aiden has also given us a refreshingly informative commentary to include, along with his utterly offensive and just, well, puzzling short film THE BATTLE BETWEEN THE BURPS AND FARTS. This disc will redefine the term "cult film." |
Coming in June:
 |
ROCK N ROLL SPACE PATROL and HICK TREK 2
The main feature - RNRSP, as we call it in the biz - will not only have standard-issue director audio commentary. It will come with alternate-angle cast video commentary; using a new technology the filmmakers call CAST-O-VISION. |
 |
MACABRE PAIR OF SHORTS
Lloyd tried to get a hold of MACABRE PAIR OF SHORTS' most famous costar, TV's David Boreanaz (of BONES and ANGEL), to see if he wanted to be on the DVD. Unfortunately, in classic Lloyd fashion, he bungled David's name, calling him David Boring Anus, which is actually the name of one of my friends who is a Cherokee Indian but which offended Mr. Boreanaz's management, headed by Francis Dull Ass, so David will probably not appear on the DVD. |
Coming in July:
 |
ZOMBIEGEDDON
From the creators of SLAUGHTER PARTY (but don't hold that against them) comes this cult film's cult film featuring Tom Savini as Jesus Christ, Brinke Stevens, Robert Z'Dar, Felissa Rose, Joe Estevez, Conrad Brooks, Ron Jeremy, Julie Strain, Lloyd Kaufman, Joe Fleishaker, William Smith, and countless others. Hell, even shitty director Uwe Boll shows up in the beginning to warn people about how bad ZOMBIEGEDDON is. And if Uwe Boll thinks it sucks, it has to be good. |
 |
EAST END HUSTLE
Another 70's drive-in classic from the Troma vaults, and another certified Mr. Skin Pick to Click. Cindy used to be a hooker, but now she's got a gun and she's gonna use it on all the people who treated her like dirt.
|
 |
OFFENSIVE BEHAVIOUR
We have tentatively scheduled this multi-character, multi-story crime flick from Down Under (that means Australia for those of you just tuning in) to round out July. More details when they come.
|
And that's all for now. I'm gonna go home and have sex with my wife. . . but I've forgotten where I live.
