Greetings
from Tromaville!
I’m Actium
Maximus.
You may know me from my copious informative posts on the Troma
Message Boards.
Well, the fine folks here at Troma decided I might as well use
the breadth and depth (not to mention width and girth,
wink, wink) of my Troma Team Video knowledge to give you a little heads-up
as to what is coming out soon from Troma DVD.
First
and Foreskin.. uh, I mean For- MOST...
NOVEMBER
NEW RELEASES!
Troma
has just put out a quartet of cult classics that deserve a spot on every
shelf!
 |
First
comes 1980’s THE
CHILDREN making its debut on DVD after being long out-of-print
on VHS, this horror hit (written and produced by Carlton J. Albright,
director of LUTHER THE GEEK) comes with all the bonus essentials:
commentary, interviews, and even a few musical numbers (you’ll
have to check out the DVD to see what I mean). |
 |
Next
is CRAZED,
the ‘70s classic starring the original Daisy Duke from DUKES
OF HAZZARD, Catherine Bach.
This one is a Mr. Skin Pick To Click, because it features Ms. Bach’s
only filmed nude scenes. (Admittedly, they’re kind of brief,
but during an exclusive interview with Mr. Skin, we slow them down
for the nudity connoisseurs in the crowd. And we heaped on a helping
of extra Tromatic nudity as well: “Troma’s Lesbian Hall
of Fame.”) |
 |
For
all you "STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION" completists and
under-entertained homosexuals, there’s FAG
HAG, featuring an appearance by Wil Wheaton. The DVD also
features a commentary with the director, stars, and film editor. |
 |
Sometime
wrestler and master auteur Fred Olen Ray is responsible for WIZARDS
OF THE DEMON SWORD, a sword-and-sandals flick featuring Michael
Berryman (THE HILLS HAVE EYES), Lawrence Tierney (RESERVOIR DOGS),
and Russ Tamblyn (TWIN PEAKS). |
 |
And
the Roan Group presents another must-have classic ALBERT
SCHWEITZER, a 1957 film which won the Oscar for Best Documentary.
It features narration by
Burgess Meredith (ROCKY, OF MICE AND MEN) and Fredric
March (DEATH OF A SALESMAN, THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES). |

DUMPSTER
BABY
There
is something strange going on with the disc for this scare flick
about an abandoned baby who gets passed from person to person.
All I know is that Lloyd invited a bunch of French filmmakers
to Tromaville to discuss DUMPSTER BABY, and he left the conference
with a black eye. He told me I’ll understand once the DVD
comes out. Uh? Okay? |
Alright,
so that’s about it for right now. I’ll try to keep you updated
on added forthcoming titles, and I’ll try to give you a fuller
description of all the discs as their release dates approach.
Your
friend and mine,
