TROMA AT CANNES NEWS

Review of Cars 3“Cars III is not the sequel to the popular Pixar film, to my knowledge I am not sure if it is even a sequel to any film. Troma seems to know it hit a goldmine with Astron 6 and their vision so it seems to be spreading its wings further out and finding other old school gems that may not have made a big mark but got an internet community talking via social media or youtube. Bobby Hacker right now is one of those talents that people are buzzing about, but really not sure why. But, clearly his involvement with Birdemic 2 got Troma…” READ MORE Share / Discuss

Review of Purge“I don’t even know where to begin with Purge. I feel like I just got slapped in the face with a cheese grater, a metaphorical “Movie Industry” labeled cheese grater. A culture shock, if you will. I guess I finally got to see the other side of the spectrum, and that’s not necessarily…” Read more Share / Discuss

MAGGOTS, MUSHROOMS, MAYHEM AND DEBBIE ROCHON TOO! NEW TROMA 3-FILM DVD AVAILABLE MAY 7German art and culture has helped to shape western art and culture since the middle ages, and to honor that tradition Troma Entertainment is releasing the highly-anticipated 3-film DVD, Mutantz, Nazis and Zombies: The Desecration Collection! The collection contains three feature films, Teen Ape VS. The Monster Nazi Apocalypse (Starring Debbie Rochon, Return to Nuke ‘Em High, Tromeo & Juliet), Secret of the Magic Mushrooms, and Attack of the Tromamaggot. All three films were shot in or inspired by Das Land der Dichter und Denker (the land of poets and thinkers): Teen Ape VS. The Monster Nazi Apocalypse (Starring Debbie Rochon)
Directed by Chris Seaver
From genre legend Chris Seaver, and starring Troma starlets Debbie Rochon (Return to Nuke ‘Em High Vol. I & II, Tromeo & Juliet) and Nicola Fiore (Mr. Bricks), this hilarious, gore-filled romp begins in 1945 where the Paranormal Investigation Agency has landed in Nazi Germany and defeated Adolf Hilter and the Third Reich. In present day, Hilter’s right-hand henchwoman clones Hitler using a vial of his DNA. Only Teen Ape and the PIA can stop the rise of the Fourth Reich!
“…an over-the-top culmination of all the insanity [Seaver] has culled over the years…” – Film Threat The Secret of the Magic Mushrooms:
Directed by Master W and Crippler Criss
Two young friends go deep in the woods to camp and drink, but when one of the friends dies, only a handful of legendary magic mushrooms can bring him back to life. “The lord of the rings of no-budget movies” – Silschede Today Attack of the Tromaggot:
Directed by Leslie Teah
Much more than a German Troma fan film, this original and nauseating film is set in Maggotown, where the Mucus Corporation has left the sewers full of toxic waste, causing a tiny maggot to mutate into the horrifying, blood-thirsty TROMAGGOT!

TROMA ENTERTAINMENT RELEASES OFFICIAL OCCUPY CANNES MISSION STATEMENTLead by Troma Entertainment’s Lloyd Kaufman, the Occupy Cannes movement will use the Cannes Film Festival to draw attention to the disparity in opportunity between the mega-media conglomerates and independent artists. “Give art back to the people,” exhorts Kaufman. In its acclaimed 2002 documentary “All the Love You Cannes,” Troma discussed and established that the mega media-conglomerates have smothered most of the art world and are not going away. With the Occupy Cannes demonstrations at Cannes and the forthcoming documentary of the same name, Troma is aiming to level the playing field and to inform independent artists as to how they can better co-exist with, work around, and change the mainstream to promote truly independent art in all its forms. Occupy Cannes will be a provocative, idealistic, and very entertaining documentary to be filmed at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival about the struggle of independent artists who come from around the world to promote their projects. Exploring the Cannes Film Festival from inside out, Occupy Cannes will use Troma’s latest production, Return to Nuke ‘Em High Vol. One, as its centerpiece as cameras follow the Troma Team at Cannes while they try to sell and promote the film. They will also meet many filmmakers who have come to support Troma and also use what they learn to promote their own projects. Occupy Cannes aims to serve as a wake-up call to media elites who have hijacked Cannes and show that indie artists and major studios can co-exist and work together if they open their minds. Occupy Cannes hopes to “make a difference,” says Kaufman. Follow the Occupy Cannes movement on Tumblr. Share / Discuss
